It’s easy to look at someone’s path and think it’s a straight line. Indeed, many people look at my profile and see exactly that. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. I spent most of my life thinking I’d be a civil engineer who’d make an impact on the built environment. But when you see an opportunity larger than what your current path is, do you stay stagnant on the path you’re on as comfortable as it may seem? Or do you unlearn what you’ve learned to become a beginner again and swing for the fences? I chose the second option. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t fast. It wasn’t simple and it was never straightforward. But when you believe that the future will be built on AI and that you and your unique skills can help us get there, the decision becomes extremely easy.
I know how I got here. I’m happy with the decisions I made and the opportunities that I have been afforded. But the future is never certain. I have a deep conviction in the power of AI and am dedicated towards increasing humanity’s ability to fully leverage this transformational technology for the better.
