Siemens acquires French IoT and buildings energy management startup
Siemens Smart Infrastructure has acquired French IoT startup Wattsense to expand its offering within the buildings energy management and automation and French markets.

Launched in 2017, Wattsense is a hardware and software company that offers a plug-and-play IoT management system for small and mid-size buildings. The startup is headquartered in Dardilly, near Lyon, France.

Wattsense leverages its IoT solution to enable the adoption of energy management practices in facilities with little or no building management system technology and in the process helps building owners and operators to achieve energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

Lowering entry barriers while keeping capital expenditures low, Wattsense allows customers to connect a wide range of devices and make them IoT-enabled. Multi-protocol devices can be onboarded easily before being connected to the cloud and operated in a Software as a Service (SaaS) model.
