MISSOULA, Mont. – Missoula County staff announced they had been working on a study to measure how data centers could affect the county and planned to present a draft on Tuesday, October 27.

County leaders had already put a one-year moratorium in place in July on new or expanded data centers outside city limits.

The study is aimed at helping Missoula County decide how to regulate data centers in ways that protect health, safety and the natural environment.

The draft is set to be presented at the Home Arts Building at the Missoula County Fairgrounds.

Missoula County residents are invited to attend the in-person presentation.
